Daniel Malburg
Originally from lower Michigan, Tech gave me a great education, the best investment I could have made for my future! I spent my working years as a technician, technologist engineer and instructor, primarily in the electric utility and telecommunication fields. I retired from Palisades Nuclear Plant in 2022 but I failed at retirement so I'm back to work on contract at Palisades as an Instrument and Control Maintenance Instructor.
At age 18, I fell in love with the Copper Country and realized that Tech was a great fit for me. Over the years I came to know that my collage choice was invaluable and I've often thanked a high school teacher and fellow alumni who was instrumental in helping me make that decision.
Most importantly, my love of the Copper Country continually lured me back on summer vacations. In 1979 I met my wife and love of my life Tammy, a Hancock native, on the Ranger on my way back from an Isle Royale vacation. We had 40 years and five wonderful children together before her passing in December of 2021.
